Winnipeg Jets 4 Detroit Red Wings 2 With the win the Jets snap a three-game losing streak and at the same time snap the Red Wings three-game win streak. Marty Mcsorley Jersey . For the second straight game, but only the fifth time all season, the Jets scored first. Bryan Little, with his team leading 8th goal and 12th point, gave the Jets a 1-0 lead after one, Little scored with one minute left in the period. Little has now scored five goals in the last seven games. The Jets outshot the Wings 14-9 in the first. The Jets used their speed to create a number of good scoring chances, which forced Jimmy Howard to make a number of great saves. At the other end of the ice, Al Montoya was making his third start of the season and was also very good. Detroit took a 2-1 lead in the second on goals by Henrik Zetterberg and Danny DeKeyser, DeKeysers first NHL goal. It was a shorthanded goal and came after a faceoff in the Jets zone. Montoya may have made his best save of the game in the second, stopping Darren Helm on a short-handed breakaway. The Jets kept pressing and Michael Frolik scored his third of the year tying it at two at 17:04. Frolik equaled his goal output from last year, converting a great pass from Mark Scheifele. The Jets had 17 shots on goal in the second. They added another 16 shots in the third, scoring two unanswered goals for the win. Matt Halischuk, with his first as a Jet, gave the Jets the lead at 4:27 of the third as his line with Scheifele and Frolik was again a very good trio. Halischuk goal turned out to be the game winner, the fifth of his career. Andrew Ladd (who was very good in the game) finished off the scoring seconds after coming out of the penalty box. It was his fourth of the year and first in 10 games. The secondary scoring the Jets have been looking for, came through tonight. Five Jets had multiple point games. Ladd, his 59th, Little, his 53rd, Devin Setoguchi, his 50th, Frolik, his 35th and Scheifele had his first multiple point game. The Jets ended the night with 47 shots, tying a season high. It was the first time in six games the Jets scored more than two goals in a game. Montoya finished the night with a 26 save win and has now stopped 93 of 96 shots he has faced this season. Coach Claude Noel would not confirm who his goaltender would be Wednesday in Chicago (TSN, TSN 1290) only to say they would discuss and assess. Montoya was born in Chicago and post-game would only say who starts Wednesday "is the coachs decision." This was Scheifeles best game in the NHL. He won five of nine face-offs, was a plus player, had three shots on goal and used his speed to his advantage. "The chemistry on our line is getting better every game," said Frolik post-game. Coach Noel agreed. "They were our best line last game, they have some chemistry and very reliable defensively." Olli Jokinen was the best face-off man for the Jets winning 11-of-17. Little took 25, winning 13. Blake Wheeler and Zach Bogosian led in the shots department with six each, a season high for both. The only Jet to not register a shot on goal was newcomer Keaton Ellerby. He was very solid in 10:39 of work with a couple of blocked shots. Jets played without Evander Kane, who is day to day with a lower body injury. Jets were also minus Paul Postma, Mark Stuart, Jacob Trouba and Jim Slater because of injuries, while Zach Redmond recalled from St. Johns did not dress. The Jets did not convert on any of the six power play chances but it was the best the power play has looked in quite some time, creating a number of scoring chances with good puck movement. Coach Noel liked what he saw from his team in this game right from the drop of the puck. "The first period was real good. We could have been up by a few. We managed the puck quite a bit better tonight. We got pucks to the goal line and put a lot of pressure on their defence. A lot of guys had a really good game. It was fun to watch our team play that way." Jets are in a busy stretch. In Chicago Wednesday, home to Nashville Friday and San Jose Sunday, then into Detroit for a Tuesday rematch with the Red Wings. Jake Guentzel Jersey . They all do actually — Joel-Hans Embiid (@JoelEmbiid) July 22, 2014There is no confirmation that the date is actually happening, but that didnt stop Embiid from getting dressed up. Fresh cut..... Getting ready for dinner http://t.co/NNIfKyZQzx — Joel-Hans Embiid (@JoelEmbiid) July 23, 2014 Almost 930.. Martin Straka Jersey . Cleveland has won the first two of this set and has won six straight games since losing back-to-back tilts to open the year. Seattle, on the other hand, has now lost six in a row following consecutive wins to kick off its campaign. https://www.cheappenguinsjersey.com/951q-paul-coffey-jersey-penguins.html . "This isnt really the week you want to lose Chris Greaves," fellow lineman Glenn January said Wednesday after practice. Greaves is expected to miss several weeks after suffering a knee injury in last weeks 36-28 win over the Ottawa Redblacks.MIAMI -- Julio Teherans low ERA rose a smidgen, which was OK because his modest batting average rose a lot. Teheran pitched 7 1-3 innings and had two hits Friday night to help the Atlanta Braves move a game ahead of Miami atop the NL East by beating the Marlins 3-2. The right-hander doubled to lead off the seventh, and the Braves went on to score twice in the inning to take the lead. "I felt I had to start a rally, and just tried to put the ball in play," Teheran said. "I think that was the biggest play of the game." The Braves trailed 2-0 in the sixth inning but rallied to break a four-game losing streak. "I know weve been losing," Teheran (5-3) said. "Its nice to do my job and help the team." Teheran allowed five hits and two runs, which raised his ERA to 1.83. He came into the game 2 for 25 this season and hiked his batting average to .143. The right-hander improved to 4-0 in six career starts against the Marlins with an ERA of 2.50. "Hes a stud," teammate Chris Johnson said. "He earned this one. He had our backs, and we got him just enough." Three relievers combined to complete a five-hitter. Craig Kimbrel, who took the loss Thursday at Boston, pitched a perfect ninth for his 14th save in 16 chances. The Braves won for only the third time in their past 13 road games. They totalled just eight hits but had several lineouts. "We hit the ball harder than any other game this year," manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "We were hitting rockets right at people all night long. The score wasnt indicative of how well we swung the bat." Giancarlo Stanton hit his NL-leading 16th home run in the first inning to put the Marlins up 2-0, but Tom Koehler (4-5) couldnt hold the lead. He gave up three runs in seven innings and was annoyed to allow four walks. "Its tough to win ballgames wwhen youre giving a team extra opportunities," he said. Gene Ubriaco Jersey. The Marlins lost for only the second time in their past 13 games against NL East teams. Freddie Freeman went hitless and struck out three times. He is 0 for 28 with 12 strikeouts against Miami this year and is batting .347 against the rest of the majors. With the Braves trailing 2-1 to start the seventh, Gonzalez said it was a no-brainer to let Teheran hit, in part because the teams bullpen was stretched thin. Teheran rewarded the decision with an opposite-field double. Jason Heyward followed with a run-scoring triple, and B.J. Uptons sacrifice fly drove in an unearned run to put the Braves ahead. Johnson singled home Atlantas first run in the sixth. While the Braves liked the way Teheran hit, they were more impressed with the 23-year-olds pitching. "The more he goes out there, the more impressed I get -- his demeanour and how he goes about his business," Gonzalez said. "You watch him grow up in front of your face." Teherans only glaring mistake was a hanging slider to Stanton, whose homer was a typical tape-measure job. It cleared the hedge beyond the 418-foot sign in centre field, ending a streak of 15 consecutive scoreless innings for Teheran. He started a new streak the next inning. "He was throwing four or five different pitches and commanding them all," Miamis Ed Lucas said. "He does a really good job changing speeds, especially for somebody who is as young as he is. Hes got a really good feel for pitching." The Marlins, who began the night with the best home record in baseball, fell to 20-9 at Marlins Park. NOTES: Miami C Jarrod Saltalamacchia went 0 for 3 and is in a 1-for-18 slump. ... RHP Ervin Santana (4-2, 4.06) is scheduled to start Saturday for the Braves against Miami RHP Jacob Turner (1-2, 5.35). ' ' '
